Adding a Google Map

Google Maps are a great feature, and can also be a very useful addition to a website, allowing visually pleasing, interactive location markers.

At the bottom of this page you should see an example of a Google Map  which shows the location of the magical island of Es Vedra.

The map shows a place marker on the location chosen, with the map zoomed to medium ( 11 in Google Speak ), there is also an overview map in the bottom right corner, which shows a zoom in a larger context.

The size and zoom of the map can be adjusted for each site, but not each page, and also before you can use Google Maps, you will need to ask you developer to register you website with Google, this is both easy and free.

To add and edit a map, login to your website editor and select a page to edit, now scroll down to the ominous looking Advanced Options bar, click it to open.

Now click the Location Finder, click it and a pop-up window will open with a small map, follow the instructions here, and once you've happy click SAVE & CLOSE, this will close the pop-up and take you back to your page editor, click save here and go have a look at what you've done!
